Innocence
Innocence is an environmental installation that explores the primordial essence of purity—an innocence unshaped by language, untouched by culture, unburdened by narrative. Four life-sized childlike figures emerge as matte black silhouettes, devoid of faces, suspended in anonymity. They are not portraits of children, but embodiments of the child itself: universal, silent, untouched.
Each figure holds a glowing orange sphere between their hands—a quiet yet radiant source of warmth. The light does not illuminate the room, but seems to emanate from within, evoking the presence of a soul, a vital core. In this context, innocence is not emptiness—it is presence. A fragile, luminous presence in need of protection.
The figures stand on a slightly elevated ultramarine-blue platform, set against the sterile whiteness of a minimalist gallery. The stark interplay of color—black, orange, blue, and white—becomes a visual language of elemental power: black as potential, orange as inner life, blue as transcendence, white as suspension.
Innocence invites no interpretation, only contemplation. It is a meditation on the unsaid, on identity before history, on the quiet light each being carries at birth. It asks not to be understood, but simply to be witnessed.
